The party entered Dol Guldur clearing out the remaining undead trees along the way.
We then proceeded to explore the prison area (door #1)

After discovering a corridor lined with dusty prison cells and the bones of a Troll, Elf and Dwarf, the party detected 2 secret doors. Behind the 1st door we found an invisible stalker. A Faerie Fire spell quickly unraveled any advantage invisibility offered the creature allowing the party to quickly dispatch the beast.

Behind the 2nd door were 4 levers. The party pulled a couple of levers and (by luck or design) after pulling levers 1 & 3 a vault door opened containing a Fire Elemental and a chest! The fire elemental was quickly destroyed. Fingilote removed the traps and unlocked the chest.

We gathered the bones of the elf and dwarf with the hope of giving them a proper burial and perhaps returning them to their respective families or clans.

After collecting what valuables we could, the party returned to camp.

Invisible Stalker Treasure: Box with 2 unmarked potions

One potion is “miruvor”, a Rivendell elven cordial that removes two levels of exhaustion and adds 2 Hit Dice healing, 20 sips worth. The other potion is unknown but determined as being “neutral”, neither evil/poisonous/noxious nor fragrant or of great benefit. You might further clues later on what it is.
Treasure in Vault:

"Elvenskin" leather armor. Base AC 15, +2 stealth proficiency - Taken by Fingilote

Mark's session summary:
Jon and guys,

Yes, you got the treasure right, I listed the armor as “Elvenskin” armor, meaning that it fits like a skin on an elf. It also gives +2 stealth proficiency bonus. The 2 mithril bars are 10 coin-weight each. No doubt this rich treasure was taken from elves and dwarves who were captured, imprisoned and tortured by the Necromance and his (now fully deceased) Jailor.

Luck played a major role. First you picked the right door (of three doors) to explore, then you picked the right levers in the treasure room, levers 1 &3, exactly the combination you needed to open the vault without triggering a trap. How did you guys guess that, with no clues given?

Then the monsters, an invisible stalker and a fire elemental, were supposedly of your challenge class, but they were no contest for you guys. That’s even when they had special abilities and resistances to all kinds of different damage types, making a 100+ Hit Point monster effectively even tougher. You guys have quite a wide array of spells to counter a lot of it. I’ll have to raise the bar a bit on the NPC’s Challenge level.

I indicated to the players that there are portions of the Gostador Dungeon (under the ruins Dol Guldur), particularly further down in deeper levels, that are currently beyond the party’s capabilities at your current levels. So the party shouldn’t expect to be able to “clear out the whole dungeon” immediately.

Experience awarded: 0.1 levels

At your service,

Mark
